Museums on Us is still alive in 2022. If you’re not familiar with it, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Museums on Us?

For the last 24 years, Bank of America has sponsored FREE museum days, or what they all Museums on Us. This happens the first full weekend of every month, and sometimes later in the month as well. There are over 225 participating museums and cultural institutions throughout the United States.

What are the Museums on Us Dates?

The dates for 2022 are Feb 5 & 6, March 5th & 6th, April 2nd & 3rd, May 7th & 8th, June 4th & 5th, July 4th & 5th, August 6th & 7th, September 3rd & 4th, October 1st & 2nd, November 5th & 6th, and December 3rd & 4th.

Which museums are participating in 2022?

The map of the museums participating in Museums on Us can be found here: Map of Museums
Some of these museums aren’t that cheap to get in. The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Living Desert in Palm Springs are both $25 and well worth it. I loved both of them! I’m sure there are many others that are at least $25 for admission.

How Do I Get Into A Participating Museum?

Any Bank of America, Merrill, or US Trust credit or debit card can get you in. Just wait in the usual ticket line, show them your qualifying card and a photo ID, and they’ll give you one ticket for general admission. It does not typically get you into special exhibits that require an extra ticket, though you may be able to pay an up-charge for them.

What if I Don’t Have a Bank of America credit or debit card?

You can always open a Bank of America account that comes with a debit card. Look for a bank account bonus so you make a bit of cash as well. I also recommend getting an Alaska Air credit card (for the business version, click here).
